Below are a few frequently asked questions regarding the Hai An Pagoda, Thursday Meditation Group,. If you have a question which is not in this section, please contact us via email through the information listed on our contact page.

Q:  Do I have to be of a specific religious background to participate in the Thursday Meditation Group?
A:  No.  We are a non-denominational group and are open to persons of any religious or ethnic background.


Q:  What language is the Thursday Meditation Group conducted?

A:  English.  Although the Hai An Pagoda is a Vietnamese temple and although many of our members derive from Vietnamese and Chinese descent, our Thurs. Meditation Group events are presented in English.

Q:  Where can I get more information on Buddhism?
A:  Aside from using the resources on this website, we also recommend visiting a local library or bookstore for obtaining books regarding the subject.  Our "recommended readings" section can be accessed by clicking here.  Furthermore, if you have any additional questions, always feel free to ask fellow members when you arrive at the temple.


Q: When will the visiting Monk teach the meditation group?
A: The Pagoda does not currently have a monk in residence but has frequent visits from monks such as Ven. Xin Xing from the Dharma Seal Monastery in New York, who now visits once a month..


Q: Will meditation group or events be canceled on account of bad weather?
A: Yes.  Meditation group and other events will be canceled during snowstorms or any other extreme weather conditions that result in dangerous driving conditions.
